Last Post for 2023...

Good afternoon parents,

I still can't believe that the end of the year is here...it has been a brilliant year as a 3DEL class and I am so very proud of each of them.

These students have shown themselves to be kind, creative, funny, thoughtful and hard working group of children and should all feel very proud of their growth and personal achievements throughout the year.

It has been my absolute pleasure to have worked with these students this year and I will miss them very much...our goal this week is to ensure that we are enjoying each other's company in these final few days as well as finishing up our learning. We aren't on holidays just yet!

Class Lists 2024 - In the latest newsletter, you would have seen that Mrs Penny King and Mrs Annie Lord/Mrs Megan Zanetti will be in charge of these legends next year.

As mentioned previously, class lists are being finalised this week and will be confirmed with administration next week. These will then be shared with parents in Week 10.

Transition Afternoon - Tomorrow afternoon, Monday 4th December, the whole school will be participating in a transition afternoon where they will be given a chance to meet their teachers for 2024...they won't know which teacher they will have but this will be a great chance for them to eyeball their possible new teacher and build some excitement!

Library Books - Please do a final check for any missing or late library books and send them in with your child as soon as possible.

Books & Things - Each day we will be sending home a couple of books that aren't going to be needed for the rest of the week. It may be helpful to send in a cloth tote bag for your child to use each day. Our goal is to avoid a huge bag coming home on the last day!

Christmas Concert - Thank you all for your wonderful organisation of costumes and having the children on time and full of enthusiasm for the night. A beautiful way to spend a Wednesday evening...I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

Working Hard - As mentioned last week, whilst many may be wishing for holidays to begin...we aren't there yet. We are still busy in class with our teaching and learning program with some grading still to be finalised.

Last Day -  On Friday, our day will mostly consist of cleaning up, final advent study, Year 6 Graduation assembly and in the afternoon - lots of fun with the Colour Run!

Students will need to wear their faction sports uniform for the morning but can get changed into their white clothing after the graduation assembly.

Please make sure there is extra sunscreen in the bag this week if your child is not able to wear the school provided sunscreen.  Don't forget to bring a towel too unless you want a possibly colourful and wet ride home! I always forget this each year and my car is not happy about it!

St Vinnies Christmas Hamper Appeal - A huge thank you to those families that have been able to make a contribution to St Vinnie's hampers for the year.

Donations will be given to local families in need, if you haven't already and would like to do so, please send in a small donation!

Absentees - Your child may have come home with an Absentee Follow up note in their bag. Please fill this out and return as soon as possible.

A final thank you from me, I have thoroughly enjoyed this year working with your beautiful children and I am so grateful for your continued support and assistance throughout the year...it has been greatly appreciated!

I wish you all a safe, happy and holy Christmas and holiday season.

Kindest regards,

Mrs Delane
