Week 9...Wow!

Image
Good afternoon parents, Can you believe that Week 9 is here already?  In some ways the term has flown but in others it has moved super slow...I hope that you have enjoyed the weekend and spent it winding up all things basketball and prepping to begin the winter sports regime. No footy to report this week except that a great night was had at the Club on Saturday night. All senior teams were presented with their jumpers and a player auction was held... So much great support for this fun initiative...I am super hopeful my group scores votes every week, I will have to see what I can do about that! We are kicking off Round 2 next week against Donnybrook at home...if you are interested in helping in any way, shape or form on these days, there are plenty of small things that can be done. Please let me know if you're keen! Character Strength... This week our character strength of focus is Honesty, not just in telling the truth but in being authentic within ourselves and how we present ours...

It's Week 8!

Hello again! Wow, can you believe that it is Week 8 already?! We only have 14 more days of school left before we head off for a two week holiday...I have no idea where the time has gone! Football Update - I seem to have appointed myself local football reporter for the Dunsborough Sharks and as part of this role I did spend another glorious day out in the sun at the oval yesterday watching our local teams in action.  So here's this week's update...Unfortunately HBL weren't able to bring a women's team this week as a large number of them were apparently participating in a baseball final...this meant that our women had a skills and drills session and then a bit of a scratchie.  It was then the Colt's turn to take the pitch and once again they were super competitive...I watched so many games of football yesterday that I have no idea who won and who lost but that's okay...footy was the winner of the day!  Our League boys are definitely showing that they will be comp...

Week 7 Update

Good afternoon parents, I hope you have all enjoyed a great weekend!  I spent most of yesterday down at The Shark Park watching and supporting our Sharks in action against Eaton...whilst it was only the Colts that got the points yesterday in our first inter-club scratchie there was some darn good football played!  Our own 3DEL legend and last year's captain, Candice Honeybone gave the Eaton girls a darn good nudge which was so good to see...not only have we had our numbers boosted, we showed excellent improvement and we actually scored on multiple occasions as well as getting it and keeping it in our forward half...these were things to only dream of last year so yaaaaay! We were ably assisted by none other than the great Eugene Lee in helping to keep our players hydrated, on such a hot day we couldn't have done it without him! One of the many things I love about living in our town!! We also had good numbers supporting from the shade of the bar...I mean verandah which was ...

A couple of reminders for the coming week... JEMMS - Please note that there will be NO groups this week as Mrs Jackson is away.  We look forward to these recommencing for Week 7, we do ask that you have your child as school as close to 8am as possible. NAPLAN - As mentioned previously, we will have our final practice this Thursday with our writing session, this is one that won't be completed online giving students the opportunity to write.  It has been a really valuable experience for the students to have the chance to practice logging into the NAPLAN system and being exposed to a variety of different question types. If you have any concerns about your child completing these NAPLAN Assessments, please get in touch with me as soon as possible. The online window for NAPLAN opens Monday of Week 7 ...all as...
