Welcome to Day 1

Good afternoon parents,

Welcome to Week 1...I hope that you have enjoyed your break and are making the most of the last day of holidays.

I am looking forward to welcoming you all into class for our first day tomorrow...just a couple of refreshers.

Tissues - Don't forget to bring in your two boxes of tissues...your contributions are gratefully received!

Extra Hands - This year we are very lucky to have Mrs Tennille Lamotte with us Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8.30am-12pm and Mrs Prisca Glaskin (shared between 3DEL & 3DAN) each day, also, 8.30-12pm. Please make them both feel welcome!

Gathering Time - Doors will open at 8.30am...I appreciate there may be some nerves around tomorrow but I do ask that you don't arrive too early.

Stationery - If you can please make sure that you have gone through your child's book ordering, unwrapping and labelling items as needed.

If you would like to repack it in the box or bag that it came in, that is no problem at all.

Upon Arrival - Your child can hang their bag on any hook, there are no name tags so please make sure that your child knows where they have hung their bag so they can easily find it...make sure their name is clear and visible.

They are to take their Crunch n Sip and water bottle out of their bag and then make their way to our door. Once doors open at 8.30, your child is to come in and find their name tag.

There will be instructions on the IWB for your child to follow. We are looking for a calm and relaxed start to the day.

Day 1 will be busy and crowded...we will get the students in and then we will sort out all of their bits and pieces. I ask that you don't put them into their drawers...we will do that later.

When the bell rings at 8.40am, I ask that you give your child a big kiss and a cuddle and say your farewells.

Please make sure that your child is clear on where they will meet you.

I dismiss them at 3pm and then they make their way independently to your agreed meeting place.

In the early days, I suggest writing it on their hand in Sharpie...this is helpful if they are doing pick up lanes or something may be out of the usual routine!

Swimming - As mentioned, many times...we kick off tomorrow!

We will be hopping on the bus at 12.30pm ready for our lesson to begin at 12.45pm...the lessons run for 40 minutes and we will arrive back at school by 1.50pm or so.

Students will then get changed back into their sports uniform and have their lunch before finishing up our day.

Please make sure that your child has the following items:

  • Long sleeved bathers/rashie/wetsuit.
  • Towel
  • Goggles
  • Thongs - to be worn to and from swimming
  • Sunscreen if an allergy or preference.
  • A suitable bag with room to fit all items.

If any students have any skin conditions in which they will need a freshwater rinse before we leave the beach, please advise me via email and I will facilitate this before we leave.

I would suggest that you pack some extra crunch n sip and recess as the students will need to load up before we head to swimming as we have a longer break.

I hope this helps make a smooth start to the school week, enjoy the peace and quiet if you can and please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions.

Kindest regards,

Mrs Delane
